Formby FC lose 10-4 to Atherton LR

FORMBY'S woes continue after an incredible defeat on Saturday.

Despite leading the game on three occasions, the Squirrels lost 10-4 at Atherton LR.

Third-bottom of the Vodkat League Premier Division, the only highlight for Formby on a miserable afternoon was David McLaughlin's hat-trick.

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Bootle were held to a 1-1 draw at home to rock-bottom Rossendale United as St Helens Town fell 3-0 at Barnoldswick Town.

Runcorn Linnets lost 4-2 at Squires Gate as Runcorn Town battered Daisy Hill in the First Division, 9-1.

AFC Liverpool's game at Oldham Boro was postponed.

Meanwhile, in the Evo-Stik Premier Division Marine moved up into fourth place after a 2-0 win over struggling Ossett Town.

Captain Tony Davies put the Mariners in front just before the interval before striker Neil Harvey ensured the win with a second goal on 67.

Burscough paid for letting the lead slip at home to Buxton on Saturday as they lost 2-1. Darren Byers put the Linnets in front on 49 minutes but the Bucks responded through Michael Towey (58) and then Mark Reed (61).

Vauxhall Motors fought back from going behind to win at Hinckley United.

The Motormen moved up to ninth in the Blue Square Bet North table with Saturday's 3-2 win but went behind just before the half-hour mark.

However Josh Wilson equalised on 35 before Obi Anorou made it 2-1 to the visiting Motors. Hinckley would level the game after 57 minutes but David Mannix found the winner on 68.
