WARRINGTON are still counting the cost of their injury-hit opening-day defeat by Huddersfield.
The Wolves had two players carried off and sent to hospital and four others carrying injuries following their 28-18 defeat on the opening day of the Magic Weekend in Cardiff.
Stand-off Lee Briers was released from hospital after being cleared of damage to his neck but centre Matt King must undergo further scans to determine the full extent of his knee injury.
“He’s done his medial ligament and he’ll have a scan on Wednesday to see if he’s done his cruciate,” said Warrington coach Tony Smith.
The Australian’s season could be virtually over if Smith’s worst fears are confirmed.
England centre Chris Bridge has been ruled out for up to a month with a hamstring injury and Smith will monitor forwards Mike Cooper, who damaged a shoulder, Simon Grix and Ben Harrison, who both sustained “dead legs”, ahead of next Sunday’s Super League game against Hull KR.
