Nethy Wood Lane Legion slammed The King Harry with Alex Strannack grabbing a hat-trick and Tagoe, Kato, Anderson and Potter rounding off a fine 7-2 win.

A Freddy Potter brace helped by a Fran Barry strike cancelled out goals from Alder’s Seb Langley and Anthony Wong to give St Sebastian’s a well earned 3-2 passage to the next round.

J O B had Ross and Jack McDowell and Jimmy Wiencke on target to beat Eden Vale Seniors 3-2 and Fazakerley felled the Oak Tree with goals from Kev Townson, Will Jones and Rowan Garrett hitting the net in a 3-2 win.

The bad news was that Liverpool North lost 4-0 to Allerton, Larkspur lost to Salisbury Ath aet 4-2 and English Rose were on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline.

In the Junior Cup double strikes from Beresford and Jackson set up Everton Red Triangle for a 5-2 win over Brunswick and last year’s beaten finalists Aintree Village beat Kirkstone VIG with Ozzie Cartwright 2 and Tom Robinson netting for a 3-1 win. BRNESC with John McGowan 3 beat Maghull Comm Centre 5-2 and Ash Gibiluru, Chris Jones and Jay Ward netting in a close 3-2 win at Tanners and Sefton Earls had a walk over against North Sefton Rangers.

The all LBH clash saw St Teresa’s come out on top 2-1, Lee Hayes and Tony Jenkinson on target against HJC Stadium who replied through Leon Toft and Kinsella and Gary Gamble gave Regent a 2-1 victory at Hurricane.

There were fine wins for Rice Lane 4-2 at Village Inn, Mossley Hill beat Hartwood 3-1 and Nicosia with Siddle 2, Buckley and Garrock on target beat Everton Stewards 4-0.

Top score of the day goes to Melbourne H & B who had English and Dalton on target twice with Powell, McHale and Deakin hitting the net for a 7-4 win at Muni-Flex.

There were mixed fortunes in the Intermediate Cup with defeats for Silcocks, McDougall 2 and Cooper as they lost 4-3 at Knowsley Park and AC Croxteth losing 4-0 against Custy’s.

BRNESC Youth were hit for six by Abbey Road to lose 6-1 but it was better news for Pumptech 7-1 winners against Reunion with Andy Evans picking up a hat trick. The Pear Tree lost 1-0 at Oaks.
