CAPITOL Cup second round action took centre stage this week and saw 76 goals scored in the 15 games played, with two teams notching double figures.
Premier team Cheshire Cheese served up a goal feast against Manor Youth when easing home 10-1 as Anthony Cotgrave (3), Craig Bennett (2), Jack Leatherbarrow (2), Peter Navarro, John Davies and Danny Wilson scored in a deluge of second half goals.
Also hitting the top 10 where Birkenhead Vale who saw off the challenge of youth team New Brighton Youth with a 10-0 score-line. Daren Sutton (2), Anthony Clarkson (2), Steff Brennan (2), Leigh Bradley, Matty Nolan and two own goals did the damage. Sad note of the game was the incident that resulted in a broken leg for Billy Duggan, but it was not intentional and Billy is wished a speedy recovery from this unfortunate injury.
A goal apiece from Robert Orford and Ken Simon gave Sandbrook a 2-0 success over Oxton Villa and efforts from Craig Clowes, Paul Sprakes and Stuart Pritchard saw Nags Head gallop past Stork Youth with a 3-1 victory, as Reese Daley bagged the only response.
