ENGLISH Rose celebrated their first win of the season in the Premier Division of the Liverpool Business Houses Football League with goals from Peter Owens and Jon McGee giving them a 2-0 result.

St Sebastian’s had a Mark Shields double to thank for the 2-1 win over Thirly who are finding it tough to halt their losing streak.

Kev Townson however was on target six times for Fazakerley as they trounced Home and Bargain (Phil Bowman) 6-1 to keep the pressure on Larkspur at the top.

King Harry shared eight goals with Netherley Wood Lane Legion in what must have been a nightmare for both managers.

There were goals galore in Division One this week as Everton Red Triangle, with a hat-trick from James Beresford and a couple from Ste Burrows, had them on the right side of an eight-goal thriller with Aintree Village for a 5-3 win.

Regent were 4-0 winners over Nicosia with McCoy (2), Gamble and Kinsella on target. BRNESC’s John McGowan hit a hat trick and Dave Whitney also hit the target to take the points and a 4-3 win over Gears United.
