Park Brow beat both the weather and wilting Lilly to go top

THIS week saw the first week of the bad weather and the Liverpool County FA Premier League lost most of its games to the poor conditions, with just three matches played.

Another fixture affected by the conditions was the Inter Leagues game between the League representative side and the West Yorkshire League which will now take place in early 2012.

There were no Premier League games played and in Division One, there was just one game as Alumni moved to 10th spot after a 3-0 win over BRNESC with Fitzgerald, Tobin and Walsh netting. There were two games in Division Two and Park Brow went a point clear at the top to become new leaders as they won 2-1 at Eli Lilly.

Ray Sefton netted for the hosts but this was cancelled out by strikes from Davies and Hart.

In the other game Liobians and Quarry Bank OB shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller.

Ben Backley, Mark Hannah and Craig Robins were on target for Liobians while Scott Garton hit a hat-trick for Quarry bank.

No Youth Division matches survived.

IN the National Sunday Cup, Dave Bowe’s goal was not enough for Queens Park as they went down 4-1 to Canada.
