LBH Cup ties were played and the Senior Cup saw Fazakerley with Kev Townson and Billy O’Callaghan netting to beat English Rose, Ian McBride 2-1 and Netherley Wood Lane Legion with Strannack, Cato and Tagoe on target, finish 3-3 with Alder, Naylor (2) and Langley replying only to lose 5-4 in the penalty shoot-out.
Obiter had a close 3-2 win at Liverpool North, Hartley and Marsh netting whilst Chris Allen, John Gandy and Jamie Miello hit the net for The King Harry in a 3-1 win over Westbury.
Thirly beat Aintree Village 5-1.
The LBH Junior Cup saw AC Croxteth and The Breze Hotel, Ales Brayton 1-1 aet only for the Breze to breeze through the shoot-out 4-3 but it was easy for Woodstreet who shared the goals around to beat Marsh 8-0.
Quarry Green had Jamie Buchanan to thank for their 2-0 passage through against The Pear Tree and BRNESC Youth had a rare old tussle with Star of the Seas, Lee Hayes on target before an Alan Yates double strike gave the railwaymen the tie 2-1.
Mags surprised The Mason’s with Peter Donnelly and Jordan Neild sharing the goals in a close 4-3 victory and Linton Paramount had to fight hard to overcome a very spirited Gateacre Institute side who had Kev Townson (2) and a Paul Wilson strike taking Linton all the way and digging deep with goals from Ste Almond,Tom Farrell, Tom Grise and Patrice to take the game and tie 4-3.
Neil McFadden was on target for Silcocks but The Brick Originals turned things around with Nathan Doyle and Tom Hincks netting for a 2-1 win while leaders Pumptech, Blair Willis (2) and Anthony Smith on target were 3-0 winners at Crosskeys.
LCFA Cup ties held over from last year due to the weather had our teams winning one of the three matches in the junior cup. Regent lost 3-1 at Dunes, Mossley Hill lost a nine goal thriller with The Hare & Hounds going down 5-4.
