Ronnie Moore is in line to pick up a second manager of the month award in a row as Tranmere Rovers continue their storming start to the season.
Moore is shortlisted as League One manager of the month for September while striker Rovers Jake Cassidy is nominated as player of the month in the same division.
Moore, the manager of the month for August, boasts a record of four wins and two draws during September that can't be matched by the other nominees: Keith Curle of Notts County (three wins and three draws) and Walsall's Dean Smith (four wins, one draw and one defeat).
Cassidy, a 19-year-old striker on loan to Tranmere from Wolves, scored seven goals during September, including a hat-trick against Colchester United at the start of the month.
The other player nominees for League One are Florent Cuvelier of Walsall, a young Belgian midfielder on loan from Stoke City, and MK Dons defender Shaun Williams, who played a big role in helping his team concede just three goals in six games during the month.
Tranmere's Andy Robinson won the League One player of the month award in August.
The winners will be announced on Friday.
Rovers' form during September took the team with one of the smallest budgets in the division to the top of the table. They go into Saturday's home game with Yeovil Town with a record of eight wins from 11 unbeaten games and a four-point lead over second placed Stevenage.
