We the got win we deserved, says Ronnie Moore after Tramere Rovers FC beat Crewe

TRANMERE manager Ronnie Moore insisted justice was done – eventually – as Rovers arrested their recent slide to take all three points against Crewe.

Still smarting from a 5-0 thrashing from Swindon last time out Moore’s side looked set to extend their winless run to four games when they trailed 1-0 at the interval thanks to a Brad Inman goal.

However, with a change of formation – and attitude – the home side simply refused to be denied all three points after the break, scoring twice in five minutes to settle the clash.

Max Power and Adam McGurk were the home goalscoring heroes, leaving Moore to revel in his half-time tinkering.

“What we did at half-time was change it and go three up front and it worked a treat to be fair. For 20 minutes of the second half, we had them on the ropes,” said Moore – whose side take on Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

“Back-to-back home wins is what we want, but whether we’ll get them or not is difficult. I thought we were the better side and our closing down was exceptional, if you consider what happened on Friday (against Swindon). When teams come here, we need to get them on the back foot like we did for 15-20 minutes in the second half where they couldn’t get out.

“Once we got the first, it was a matter of how many. I’ve nothing but praise for them, but there’s no respite for them – they’ll be in tomorrow.”
