Noe Pamarot's late own goal saw Hull scramble an 86th-minute equaliser as they claimed a 2-2 draw against Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
The home side, without injured Jermain Defoe, Sol Campbell, Niko Kranjcar and Lassana Diarra, had twice led through a Peter Crouch header in 21 minutes and Glen Johnson's ferocious 25-yard shot either side of Michael Turner's third goal of the season from a corner.
But the Tigers, who had hit the woodwork through Geovanni just before half-time, kept going and got the late leveller.
