James Anderson finished with a nine-wicket match haul as England wrapped up an innings victory by early afternoon on the final day at Riverside to regain the Wisden Trophy 2-0.
The hosts needed seven wickets at start of play on Monday morning - and after two false starts because of passing showers, Anderson (four for 38) and Tim Bresnan (three for 45) began the job in earnest.
Following on after the hosts had piled up 569 for six declared on the back of hundreds from Alastair Cook (160) and Ravi Bopara (108), West Indies had no answer and eventually finished 176 all out - 83 runs short of making their hosts bat twice.
England therefore won back the Trophy - lost 1-0 in the Caribbean last winter - in style and in record time.
