England have left out James Anderson and Graeme Swann as a precaution for their opening warm-up match for the World Twenty20 against Scotland.
Lancashire seamer Anderson, man of the match in England's second Test victory over Durham at Chester-le-Street, has been rested after reporting slight soreness in his left ankle because of his recent workload.
Off-spinner Swann was also overlooked after failing to practice at Loughborough on Monday because of a stiff back, and their absence has given opportunities to Yorkshire leg-spinner Adil Rashid and Ryan Sidebottom, who has not played for England since the winter tour to the Caribbean.
England have also chosen to overlook Essex all-rounder Graham Napier and Kent's Rob Key while Luke Wright has been promoted back up the order to open alongside Ravi Bopara.
Scotland have included 20-year-old Warwickshire seamer Calum MacLeod in their line-up just 24 hours after he was called into their squad as a replacement for John Blain, who walked out following a row with captain Gavin Hamilton.
Former England all-rounder Hamilton won the toss and has decided to bat at Trent Bridge as they attempt to cause an upset in their opening warm-up match.
