WIDNES ran in six tries as they swept aside Rochdale 32-0 to maintain the pace at the top of Co-operative National League One.
Gavin Dodd opened the scoring after just five minutes and the Vikings barely broke sweat as they crushed the Hornets for the second time in five weeks.
Dean Gaskell, Oliver Wilkes, Scott Grix, Joel Penny and Ian Webster also got on the scoresheet as Widnes kept themselves a point ahead of Castleford.
The second-placed Tigers survived a stiff test from promotion rivals Whitehaven before emerging 44-12 winners at The Jungle.
Cas were pegged back to 12-12 by the battling Cumbrians but eventually broke free with crucial tries. Teenager Joe Westerman scored twice as the Tigers wrapped up the game with Kirk Dixon and Richard Owen also scoring.
Lee Patterson grabbed a debut try as Halifax continued their push up the table with an 18-6 win at Leigh.
