Rugby League: St Helens sweating over Cunningham

RUGBY LEAGUE: Holders St Helens are sweating over the availability of hooker Kieron Cunningham for Saturday’s Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-final against Bradford.

The veteran number nine, who appeared in his first Challenge Cup final at Wembley 11 years ago, has been ordered to appear before the Rugby Football League’s disciplinary committee in Leeds today on a charge of striking.

Cunningham was placed on report for what appeared to be a swinging arm on Wigan full-back Pat Richards during Friday’s 19-12 engage Super League victory at Knowsley Road.
