WIGAN coach Brian Noble believes the club have pulled off a coup by signing former Leeds full-back Richie Mathers.
The 24-year-old was rated as one of the hottest prospects in the British game when he left the Rhinos to try his luck with Australian club Gold Coast Titans last year.
Injury, however, prevented him from making an impact in the NRL and he played just five times before his season was ended by a serious knee injury which required a reconstruction.
Former Great Britain coach Noble said: “We are thrilled to get hold of a player of Richard’s ability. He is an outstanding acquisition and an outstanding individual.”
