FORMER Great Britain international Stuart Reardon is facing an uncertain future after parting company with Warrington.
The 27-year-old ex-Bradford full-back or centre has left the club with immediate effect, according to a nine-word statement issued by the club.
Reardon is currently awaiting sentence after pleading guilty to assaulting his estranged wife Kay in an incident in Bradford last summer.
Both Reardon and former Bradford team-mate Leon Pryce, the St Helens and England stand-off, were warned to expect a jail term when they return for sentencing to the domestic violence court in Bradford on April 23.
Reardon, who joined the Wolves from Bradford in 2005, has not played for the club since rupturing his Achilles tendon in a Challenge Cup tie at St Helens last May.
Warrington this week signed a replacement full-back in Richard Mathers from Wigan.
Yesterday’s move comes just 48 hours after Hull KR decided against sacking full-back Ben Cockayne after he was given a suspended prison sentence for assault.
Meanwhile, Salford-born England forward Adrian Morley will make his first Super League appearance at The Willows for almost nine years when he leads Warrington out against the Reds today.
Morley missed the Wolves’ last visit to his home-town team because of a facial injury and last played at The Willows for Leeds in 2000, shortly before embarking on a six-year stint with Sydney Roosters.
“I still look out for Salford’s results but obviously I’m a Warrington player through and through so there will be no love lost this weekend,” he said.
“I can’t wait. Every game between these two teams is special anyway. ”
