Tonga on Wirral

RUGBY UNION: The Tongan national squad is holding a public training session at New Brighton’s Hartsfield headquarters this afternoon.

It is the last serious get together for the squad before heading to France for next month’s World Cup. New Brighton captain Kati Tuipulotu, who has just signed a new three-year contract, is a former member of the Tongan squad.

“We hope to give them a great send-off,” said New Brighton spokesman Guy Hughes.
