Caldy on national stage

NATIONAL League rugby comes to Paton Field this Saturday as Caldy kick off their season at home against Hull Ionians.

Pre-season preparations have gone well against Llanelli, Colwyn Bay and Stourbridge and Caldy have retained almost all of last years squad as well as strengthened in certain key areas.

The Cheshire front row of Gavin Woods, Neil Doudridge and Derek Salisbury will be augmented by player coach Matt Holt, Jack Parker and Ben Fedigan. Simon Mason look likely to drop back into his favoured full-back role with new half-backs Ben McPherson and Russ Meadows adding quality and choice to the squad.
