Rugby World Cup: Jake White: Dallaglio’s omission “a shock”

SOUTH Africa coach Jake White has described England star Lawrence Dallaglio’s omission from the World Cup showdown on Friday night as “a shock”.

Number eight Dallaglio and his Wasps back-row colleague Joe Worsley have both been omitted from the match-day 22 in favour of Nick Easter and Martin Corry respectively.

Acutely aware of the challenge the Springboks’ revered line-out presence will pose, England head coach Brian Ashton has modified his selection to reflect that challenge.

White still believes England’s threat should not be dismissed.

He added: “The only people that have written England off are some of the media.”
