OLDERSHAW began to claw back their seven-point penalty in South Lancashire/Cheshire Two League with a 20-10 victory at home to Southport.
Veteran John Atherton, Dave Reid and Mark Wilson gained tries and John Jones a penalty and a conversion. The seasiders had to settle for a converted try and a penalty.
Sefton took the derby at Collegiate 17-3 thanks to touch-downs via John Stitt, David Carr and Peter McBride plus a John Fenton goal. Paul Walsh struck a penalty for the losers.
Warrington and Wallasey drew 16-16 with wins for Ormskirk, 20-13 against Ashton on Mersey and Orrell Anvils, 16-3 over Crewe and Nantwich. Simon Kirby scored the first try for Wallasey before being forced off with a serious shoulder injury. Paul Lewis converted and hit a trio of penalties.
Warrington had similar scores with Paul Malone their try scorer. Parkonians enjoyed a 29-23 success at Holmes Chapel in Division Three.
Roy Triggs touched down for Prenton in a 30-5 reverse at Moore.
Martin McGeough managed a penalty for St Edwards who went under 10-3 at Trentham. Mossley Hill finished 46-3 to the good over Ellesmere Port.
