Rugby Union: Wirral look to stay top

WIRRAL look to build on an encouraging start to the season when they visit Aspull in South Lancashire/Cheshire One League tomorrow.

They have won three to go top with Wilmslow. Ian White and Sam Broadbent are at half-back. Craig Harvey switches to the centre alongside Matt Bennett. Paul Rawsthorne is at prop.

Hoylake and Anselmians look for improvement after a disappointing month. Anselmians have it all to do at Wilmslow but Hoylake will fancy their chance of opening their account against visiting Bowdon.

Wigan visit Sale while Widnes make the short journey to Ruskin Park. Steve Vickerstaffe and Kevin Farrow resume up front for the Heath Road outfit. Liam Morton joins the bench.

In Division Two Wallasey hope to have in form winger Ben Intamati back in contention as they aim to maintain their unbeaten run at home to Ashton On Mersey.

Warrington, also unbeaten, go to Crewe and Natwich.

DIVISION TWO: Collegiate v Ormskirk, Sefton v Oswestry, Oldershaw at Dukinfield and Southport v Orrell Anvils.

Sefton welcome back prop forwards Mark Carruthers and Brian Gardner whilE Neil Best gets his first start on the wing.

Prenton have a cross-river derby at home to Mossley Hill as they look to open their Division Three account. Parkonians welcome Newton Le Willows with St Edwards against Eagle and Ellesmere Port at home to Trentham.

DIVISION FOUR: West Park Warriors v Helsby, Merseyside Police v St Mary’s, Capenhurst v Linley and Port Sunlight v Knutsford.
