Rugby Union: Chester building up

CHESTER have quickly found their feet in North Two West after relegation last season but their unbeaten record to date will come under threat when they travel to Broughton Park on Saturday.

The Hare Lane outfit comfortably took the Cheshire derby against Winnington Park in their latest outing 30-8 for a third success.

Top scorer Simon Love missed the clash with a leg injury, will hope to be back in contention on Saturday. Michael Hughes, Foden and Barnado who were all forced to leave the field against Park with various injuries face late tests.

“We must build on the positives,” said coach Rob Foden. “They are no doubt preparing a warm welcome for us and we must be ready for it.”

Chester are also due in action on Tuesday of next week against Caldy in the Lees Cheshire Cup quarter-final. The venue is New Brighton with an 8pm start.
