Rugby Union: Broughton Park 24, Chester 0

CHESTER suffered a first defeat of the season in North Two West.

They could not break down the home rearguard. Broughton dominated up front, despite good work for Chester by Gareth Martin and Nathan Sandland-Jones. Park gained a converted try and two penalties before the break and added two more kicks and another touchdown to make sure.

Leigh lost again, this time 22-14 at Rochdale and have still to record a victory after being promoted. In Division Four West Park Warriors beat Merseyside Police 45-15 with tries from John Tibbins (2), Mike Simpson, Mike Simmonds, Luke Tunstall and John Collins. Dowling kicked the other points.
