WIDNES recovered from a nervous opening to win comfortably in South Lancashire/Cheshire One.

Widnes were 14-5 to the good at halfway thanks to a Paul Borg try and a trio of penalties by Kevin Leadbetter. Andy Riley and Mark Sibson, with a thrilling 70-metre dash, added touchdowns and Leadbetter a conversion to ensure a first home success.
