Rugby Union: Molloy works his magic

ANSELMIANS were delighted to break the ice in South Lancashire/Cheshire One League with a 33-5 victory over Ruskin Park.

Anthony Molloy scored a try and landed four conversions. Mark Petterson went in twice and other singles were registered by Andy Povey and Chris Wells.

Wirral suffered their second reverse against leaders Wilmslow 28-17. Colin Davies crossed twice and Dan Harvey kicked the other points.

Hoylake failed 36-24 at Wigan where Dominic Kearney touched down twice.

Aspull secured an excellent 17-13 success against Vagabonds and Widnes accounted for Sale 26-5.

Try-scorers for the Heath Road side were Paul Borg, Andy Riley.

On Saturday Anselmians have a tough Senior Vase clash at home to Blackburn while Widnes at Heath Road come up against Heaton Moor in North Lancashire One League.
