OLDERSHAW, who are facing a real battle to retain their South Lancashire/Cheshire Two League status after starting the season on minus seven points, have had to make a change in leadership.
Gavin Scott has stood down for personal reasons and Ed McCullough has taken over the captaincy.
Oldershaw are among several clubs who do not have a game this weekend, there are however cup commitments for a number of sides.
Heaton Moor visit Widnes in the EDF Energy Senior Vase. They look to inflict a first defeat of the season on the North Lancashire One side.
Anselmians face a tough hurdle at home to Blackburn but will have been heartened by a first success last Saturday.
Sefton come up against Yorkshire One outfit Huddersfield YM at Thornhead Lane. They show a number of changes with Dan Walmsley making his debut in the centre and Dave Rooney his first appearance of the season on the wing.
Parkonians entertain Burley in the Junior Vase while Prenton head to Trentham hoping for improvement after losing 22-10 in South Lancashire/Cheshire Three at the same ground last Saturday.
West Park Warriors have a home encounter with Littleborough in the Lancashire Plate.
Other clubs without fixtures include Wirral, Hoylake and Wallasey.
Meanwhile Caldy beat Chester 47-7 in midweek to reach the semi-finals of the Lees Cheshire Cup. Both sides were below strength but Caldy with two tries in the first nine minutes and three in the last five minutes won decisively.
Those to cross were Jack Parker, Liam Gill, Matt Bennett, Gavin Roberts, Ben Wylie and Sam Dickinson with Simon Mason kicking the other points.
Caldy face Macclesfield or Altrincham Kersal in the penultimate stage on November 13 with the other tie between Wirral neighbours Birkenhead Park and New Brighton.
