Rugby Union: LSH out of trophy

LSH duly exited the EDF National Trophy at the first attempt following a disappointing performance.

Outplayed up front by a well organised Morpeth pack LSH found themselves on the back foot throughout. A disastrous opening 10minutes saw LSH conceding a try and a penalty and the enforced replacement of injured hooker Phil Battersby with new man Anthony Harvey. They fought back with a try from stand-off Dave Birch, converted by Ashley Worsfold before the home side scored a second try to lead 13-7 at the break.

LSH, having introduced Joe Gee for his first senior appearance, rallied in the closing stages with fine try from flanker Gareth Tudor, converted by Worsfold.
