CHESTER turned on the style for a remarkable EDF Energy Intermediate Cup first round success.
Centre Morne Barnado led the way with four tries and there were for a dominant Chester side via Matt Bebbington, Matt Bellamy, skipper Sean Green and Simon Abiero.
Bebbington reached 22 points for the game with seven conversions and a penalty.
It was an excellent team performance by Chester with hooker Nathan Sandland-Jones and back-row man Bellamy outstanding.
It was all over at half-time when Chester led 31-0 but they refused to slacken the pace.
Pontefract gained a consolation try and goal.
