Rugby Union: Schools triumph in Mail cup ties

A NUMBER of Merseyside schools under-18s sides have moved through to round three of the Daily Mail National Cup.

MTS, after beating St Edwards 23-0, travel for a difficult clash against Stonyhurst, who beat Liverpool College 22-0.

Cowley had a tremendous battle against Ormskirk winning narrowly at Hard Lane 8-6. They entertain Manchester GS or Audenshaw.

Wirral GS’ win over Caldy 33-12 sets them up for a crunch home game against Sandbach.

At U15s level in the Daily Mail Cup Birkenhead School entertain Wirral in round three. They beat Caldy 15-12 and Grange GS 22-0. Cowley won at St Edwards 29-12, and travel to Lymm.

The Sale Sharks were at Liverpool Collegiate (see picture) last Sunday holding a tackling and kicking clinic in prep-aration for the half-term Sale Sharks camp to be held at Liverpool Cricket Club October 23-25 from 3.30pm.

This Monday the students will be taken to Carrington, Sale’s training ground where they will train and meet the players.
