ORRELL ANVILS are back in harness this season after a troubled 2006-07 campaign not helped by the demise of the main Orrell club.
The Anvils, in their latest outing, upstaged South Lancashire/ Cheshire Two leaders Sefton with a 25-7 away victory.
Wallasey missed a gilt-edged opportunity to go top when they lost 18-15 at Crewe and Nantwich.
Warrington and Southport both lost but Ormskirk beat Oswestry 25-13.
St Edwards have found their feet in Division Three, demolishing Ellesmere Port 54-8. Peter Stephenson earned three tries.
Prenton, who have struggled this season, figured in a 25-25 thriller against Eagle while Mossley Hill took the cross river derby at Parkonians 24-10 as they put a horror cup show the previous week firmly into the background.
Port Sunlight beat St Mary’s 34-32 in a tense Division Four match. Capenhurst whipped Congleton 47-7 but there were heavy defeats for West Park Warriors and Merseyside Police.
