Wirral looking to halt the slide

WIRRAL look to halt their recent slide down South Lancashire/ Cheshire One League when they entertain Sale tomorrow.

The Clatterbridge outfit has suffered three successive reverses after a promising start to the campaign.

Craig Harvey will have Iuan Jones as his half-back partner. James Duckers and Steve Prendergast make up the front-row with hooker Chris Hughes.

Anselmians and Hoylake face a derby at Malone Field. Hoylake will fancy their chance after two good wins but Anselmians have the ability to cause an upset and expect to have several players resuming.

Widnes entertain Burnage who lost for the first time last week. Centre Mark Sibson is set to return and several forwards are back in contention.

Wigan entertain Bowdon and Aspull meet Ruskin Park.

High-flying Division Two clubs Sefton and Wallasey bid to resume winning ways after first league defeats last weekend. Sefton will not find it easy at Warrington but Wallasey should be too strong for struggling Southport at Cross Lane.

Ormskirk have Crewe and Nantwich as visitors and Orrell Anvils welcome Collegiate who will be more confident after a first win last week at the expense of luckless Oldershaw.

The Belvidere side come up against Oswestry and even at this stage of the season it looks a must win situation. Oldershaw are still on minus five points in the division and are still trying to overcome the loss of several members of their squad.

In-form St Edwards in Division Three will fancy another win in a cross river derby at home to Prenton.

Parkonians journey to Trentham and Mossley Hill have Holmes Chapel as visitors.

Division Four fixtures include Merseyside Police v Port Sunlight, West Park Warriors at Marple and St Mary’s v Capenhurst.
