WATERLOO scrum half Jon Broxson has signed up with West Park and if his registration goes through in time he could well be in the frame to face Caldy on Saturday at Paton Field.
It should be an intriguing battle with both clubs having similar seasons so far in National Three North and struggling to force their way into the top half of the table.
Broxson, who teaches at St Edwards College, has enjoyed several seasons at Blundellsands as well as a spell at Orrell but has recently found himself out of favour.
His move to Red Rocks will bring considerable experience to his new club having played in recent years both in National One and National Two.
Moreover, he has proved to be very versatile and able to turn out at fly half or on the wing when called upon.
With Rob Briers stepping down as chief executive and chairman of the club, Park have a lot to do both on and off the field. They came away from last Saturday's game against Harrogate bitterly disappointed at not taking the spoils after seeing two chances to score and seal the result slip away in the closing phases.
And their Yorkshire visitors then had the last say with the winning try late in the game.
As far as the administration side of things is concerned, Briers, although he will remain loyal, will be greatly missed.
The club has still to announce his permanent successor.
