Caldy injuries starting to ease

CALDY hope to have several key players back in action for today’s interesting National Three North League home clash with West Park.

Matt Bennett looks set to resume at scrum-half after missing the Leicester Lions clash on domestic grounds and skipper Shaun Woof hopes to be fit to take his centre place.

Richard Bradshaw remains a forward doubt due to a knee problem but Matt Lamming could be in contention for a back-row return.

The two clubs are side by side in then lower half of the table and it is an important encounter for both.

In North OneBirkenhead Park look for a seventh successive victory against visiting Cleckheaton, but will be missing skipper Dave Ibbotson, who has a troublesome hand injury.

Jon Sewell moves to number eight and will lead the side. Ashley Oliver takes the back-row vacancy and Chris Saidi comes in for bench duty.

Improving Leigh provide the opposition for Chester at Hare Lane in North Two West. They have won their last four matches after an indifferent start to the season.

New Brighton, similarly placed to Chester, are due at Rochdale who have won four and lost four to date.
