Lithuanian in camp

CHESTER have an international player in their squad.

Utility back Simon Verbickas was in the Lithuanian side which crushed Bulgaria 65-0 in the European Nations Cup recently.

He acted as a replacement during Saturday’s 39-7 home victory over Leigh. It took the Hare Lane side to second in North Two West.

James Whitelock-Wainwright made a welcome return at prop. He had been sidelined since August after breaking an arm in pre-season training.

Chester were strengthened by the inclusion of some rugby league players.

Simon Abiero gained two tries with Ross White, skipper Shaun Green and Mornay Barnado chipping in. Matt Bebbington hit four conversions and two penalties.

Chester are in cup action on Saturday hosting Rochdale in the Intermediate Cup – a team they beat 19-17 earlier this season in the league.
