Rugby Union: Chester 25, Rochdale 7

CHESTER advanced to the third round of the EDF Energy Intermediate Cup with a comfortable victory over Rochdale from the same North Two West League.

They did all their scoring in the first period before giving a run to the replacements after half-time.

Morne Barnado and Matt Sheen each gained two tries. Tom Foden struck a penalty and a conversion.

Rochdale achieved a converted try midway through the second half but were never really in contention.

Shaun Green, Matt Bellamy and Jon Piggott all did well for Chester in addition to the try-scorers.
