HOYLAKE found Rossendale too strong as they went out of the EDF Energy Senior Vase at the third round stage.

Steve Young landed a penalty in each half but Rossendale were always the livelier outfit.

The home team ran in six tries, plus three conversions and a penalty, for a comfortable success.
