WIDNES booked their place in round three of the Senior Vase as they beat Sale for a second time this season.

They had the best possible start with an Andy Riley try converted by Mark Sibson inside five minutes.

Man of the match Kevin Farrow was next to cross, while Peter Wright went over in the second period.

Sale managed a converted try just before half-time and made the score respectable with a late touchdown.
