AFTER a welcome week’s break, Waterloo have an excellent chance to put their playing record on the plus side today when they entertain a Blaydon side just below them in National Two.
But the big question mark today hangs over the key position of scrum-half. First choice Luke Stringer has passed a fitness test but if he suffers any reaction from his recent injury there will be a major problem as the two reserve candidates are not available.
Overall, the side will also be lacking skipper and prop Martin O’Keefe plus no fewer than three injured wingers which explains why a newcomer has been loaned from Doncaster in the extremely useful James Rothwell.
West Park have been undergoing some major internal changes but their team have begun to click with the return of the inspirational Stephen Briers and should be too strong for Darlington MP.
With the dynamic Rob Hitchmough also available they look to have the quality to move up the table.
LSH have an extremely tough to distant Hull at time when they badly need points to help them move up the table.
However, the recent week’s break should have helped one or two injured men, like Simon Worsley and Mark Dickenson, to recover and they have the ability to grab the points.
