Waterloo miss chance

A FRUSTRATING afternoon for Waterloo, who will be disappointed to come away from Kent with only a draw after dominating both possession and territory for most of the National Two game.

The home side went 12-0 up with tries from Lee Cooper and Graham Frith, with Paul Trindall successful with one conversion.

As the visitors came more into the game they put Park under severe pressure on their own line, where a too hasty clearance was charged down by Pablo Freijoo, the scrum-half winning the scramble for his side’s first try.

Alex Davies added the conversion but a penalty from Trindall maintained Park’s two-scores lead. Waterloo came back strongly, Alex Davidson claiming a try after the pack had driven over the line.

A penalty from Davies at the beginning of the second period made it 15-15 but again Westcombe Park edged in front with a try from Jonathan Moyce, converted by Adam Slade.

In a rousing finale Waterloo scored a second try from Davidson, again from a drive over the line, with Davies’s conversion drawing his side level.
