WIDNES slipped to another South Lancashire/Cheshire One reverse against an efficient Wigan.

Andy O’Neill, with a penalty, gave them a positive start but Wigan with two tries, a conversion and a penalty were in control by the halfway stage. Mark Sibson and Peter Wright went in after the break for the home side but three more Wigan tries emphasised the visitors’ superiority.

Meanwhile the Burnage v Wirral South Lancashire/Cheshire One game was called off, but Ruskin Park gained an excellent 13-9 victory over Vagabonds.
