Rugby Union: Youngsters catch eye

DESPITE the domination of Yorkshire in this season’s North of England U16 trials, four Merseysiders have moved into the final selection stages.

Among them forwards David Markham (Rainford HS) has been impressive while backs Andy Dunne (Lymm HS) Ross O'Neill (MTS) and John Pape (Rainford HS) have caught the eye.

They are expected to be fighting for further recognition this weekend in the Divisional Festival at Broadstreet, Coventry.

West Park U7-U9s won two of their three games against Ormskirk with Harry Huntington outstanding for the U7s. Adam Woosey scored a hat-trick for the U9s.
