THERE are a couple of re-arranged South Lancashire/Cheshire One matches tomorrow as the league programme in the main takes another break.
Hoylake come up against Aspull at Melrose Avenue and Wirral take on Burnage at Clatterbridge.
Wirral have lost their way somewhat in recent outings and will not find it easy against an improving side. Gas Simpson is an absentee so Martin Bennett and Colin Davies take the centre duties.
Paul Rawsthorne partners Andy White at lock forward and John Griffiths starts in the front-row.
Hoylake, with most of their squad available, should be too strong for Aspull after a hard earned success at Wirral in their first outing this year. They have steadily climbed up the division after a hesitant start to the campaign when key players were missing.
Most of the other local junior clubs unhappily have yet another weekend off following the recent two week break for the festive season.
Wallasey and Oldershaw featured in the opening match in the Wirral Floodlit Cup at New Brighton in midweek. A wet and windy evening was hardly conducive to good play but three tries were scored.
Two of them went to Wallasey via Greg McDonald and Simon Kirby. Paul Lewis converted each time and also landed a brace of penalties for a 20-5 success. The competit-ion is being played to a handi-cap system this season with 10 points per league but Wednes-day’s match started even with both sides from South Lancashire/Cheshire Two.
