Rugby Union: Waterloo are on the up

IT is encouraging to see Waterloo have lost only once – in a cup tie to Ealing – since November.

And despite the disrupted schedule they have conceded just one try in their last four games – to pace-setters Manchester whom they beat comprehensively – and scored a massive 132 points to five in the process.

Waterloo have improved considerably and must fancy their chances against Stourbridge this weekend what with their defence becoming almost impregnable with both forwards and backs scarcely missing a tackle.

They now have a talented newcomer, James Jones from Aberavon, to cover prop while Martin O’Keefe recovers from injury.

The backs are also impressive, with fly-half Alex Davies showing pace and creativity.

Stourbridge won their first meeting in early October and lie second in National Two but with Waterloo will fancy their chances at gaining revenge.
