LSH denied at the death

A PENALTY six minutes from time cruelly robbed LSH of a share of the points as they gave their all in this North One clash.

The two evenly-matched sides reached half-time with a try and penalty apiece before battling out a scoreless third quarter. As full time approached and after a period of sustained LSH pressure the Tigers countered strongly winning the crucial penalty, successfully landed by Tom Outram.

Simon Worsley missed three penalties in the first 10 minutes before an Outram penalty and a try from scrum-half Alex Drage gave the home side an 8-0 lead. LSH, with Jeff Foulkes outstanding, hit back with a penalty from Ashley Worsfold. They drew level with a fine try involving Worsley, Martin McGeough and Mike Hebden before Worsfold crashed through to score.

With a deserved draw beckoning, up stepped Outram to break the deadlock.
