PARK with key players missing fell to their second successive North One League home defeat.
The result was a big bonus for relegation-threatened Altrincham Kersal in a dour encounter.
Making matters worse for Birkenhead was the dismissal of lock forward David Blythe in the second-half during a melee. He seemed to be the one signalled out in a free-for-all.
But generally it was a below-par show by Park, who battered away at the visitors line to no avail for long periods. It seemed the combined side was using unfair tactics to halt the driving mauls and in the end the referee yellow-carded two of their players.
But the home side still could not take advantage although going very close to opening their account.
Altrincham started well but the home side contained the pressure. The only first-half score was a penalty on 20 minutes via Sean Rogers.
Park lost leading try scorer Christian Jones through injury.
The visitors made sure with an unconverted try from Wayne Morris during a late break out.
