Broken leg ends Green’s season

IN-FORM Chester suffered a major set back at the weekend as skipper Sean Green sustained a leg fracture.

He will miss out on the rest of the season as the Hare Lane sides bids for the North Two West title and also glory in the EDF Energy Intermediate Cup.

Chester remained top of their division with a hard earned 22-13 success over third placed Broughton Park.

On the bright side new signing James Farrell made a sound debut when he replaced Green in a re-arranged line-up. The 19-year-old scrum-half moved over from Rhyl.

Coach Rob Foden must now decide who will lead the side for the crucial period ahead. Chester are due at Winnington Park in the league on Saturday before having home advantage against Basingstoke for a place in the Intermediate Cup semi-final a week later.
