Rugby Union: Tynedale 34, West Park 3

WEST Park ended this National Three North clash somewhat in disarray and licking their wounds after competing so well throughout the afternoon.

They only had an Andy Soutar penalty to show for their efforts.

They trailed by only 12 points with the game moving into stoppage time. Unfortunately the Merseysiders were reduced to 13 men in the closing stages after lock forward Dave Westhead had been sent off and scrum half Phil Webster restricted through injury.

Tynedale took full advantage hammering the visitors with three tries.

West Park could have been well pleased with their share of possession but unfortunately errors denied winger Carl Warburton and centre Ian Callaghan from grabbing points.

Prop Liam McLoughlin and playmaker Rob Hitchmough were yellow-carded before the interval.
