Fears of drop ease

NORTHWICH virtually ended their relegation worries in North Division Two West with a 13-8 victory over mid-table Lymm.

After a promising performance at Vale of Lune, when they were unlucky to lose 8-7, the Blacks continued their improvement and overwhelmed Lymm in the scrums and line-outs and always possessed the better attacking ideas.

Skipper Steve Campbell was again the inspiration with a fine try and had a hand in almost all his team’s best attacking moves. Coach Paul Reid says his team have regained their confidence and will approach Saturday’s tricky visit to Broughton Park in good heart.
