University’s tough lesson

LIVERPOOL University unfortunately sealed their fate at Wyncote and now face the drop from the BUSA Premiership after losing to Sheffield University 43-10.

The Merseysiders were outmuscled throughout by a much bigger Yorkshire side that took control early on to lead 25-0 at the break. The home side improved in the second half but still lacked cohesion. At club junior level Liverpool Collegiate under-12s, who go on tour in May, have gone so far undefeated this season and recently crushed Sedgeley Park U12s 87-0.

Collegiate Colts Juniors secured top spot in Division B with a 34-5 victory over Wigan.

West Park Juniors also continue to make progress with the U8s beating Sefton comfortably with Thomas Speight the top try-scorer.

The U7s also pulled off a good win at Sefton with Adam Parkes, Pete Davies and Callum Johnson each scoring two tries.

West Park U9s didn’t have things their own way, losing to Sefton despite two good touch-downs from Charlie Birchall.
