Holt is happier

CALDY are in eighth after beating Bradford 36-5 last weekend.

And head coach Matt Holt was delighted with the improved display.

He said: “The performance this weekend was much improved from the loss to Darlington Mowden Park last week.

“The things that we discussed during the week that needed strengthening from including our defence worked well.

“We still need to work on playing the full 80 but if we keep continuing to improve as we have this season we should be able to move up the table which is one of the team’s main goals.”

On Sunday, the Senior Academy hosted Darlington in the regional quarter-final winning 18-14 as Jordan Buffong return from injury.

This weekend sees the third meeting of the season between Caldy and Leicester Lions.

The first clash on October in the first round of the National Trophy saw Caldy win 42-19, before losing 31-18 in the away league trip.
